Configuring an iPhone for Exchange

Before you begin, make sure you are either connected to a WiFi network if you have a wireless only device e.g. iPod Touch or that you have a 3G Data connection. You should also update to the latest version of iOS for your device currently 6.1.3 for iPhone 5/4s/4/3Gs iPad 4/3/2/Mini iPod Touch 5th Gen/4th Gen

Step 1: Locate the Email settings function, on iOS devices this is found by tapping Settings from the Home Screen

Step 2: Add an account, if you already have existing email accounts choose the Add Account... button, if you do not currently have email on your device you will be presented with the next screen.

Step 3: Select "Microsoft Exchange" from the options.

Step 4: Enter your details into the form,

 

Email = your full email address

Password = the password you use to logon to the computers at work

Description = Enter something like Work Email to help you identify this account

Once done click Next in the to right corner.

 

Step 5: Verify account information, if you have entered everything correctly, the screen should add the following line of text

If for any reason the Server line shows no information, enter the server address manually by typing mail.yourdomainhere.com and click next again in the top right corner.
 
Step 6: Select what you want to sync with your Exchange account, you can choose to sync just Mail or you can also sync Contacts or Calendars or all of them. Simply slide the switch to the on position. PLEASE NOTE: Make sure you select "Keep on iPhone" or "Keep on iPod" when syncing contacts as you may end up erasing all of your existing contacts.
 
Once done click Save in the top right corner to save the account, you will now receive your work emails wherever you are
